Philip S. Ellerin, MD, FAAD


The Dermatology office of Philip S. Ellerin, MD, FAAD incorporates the Ellerin Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology Center, the Dermacare Center and the Phototherapy Center, all located at 172 Cambridge Street (Rt. 3A) Burlington, Massachusetts, 01803.

Dr. Ellerin, a diplomate of the American Academy of Dermatology and board certified since 1972, is an assistant clinical professor at Tufts and Boston University Medical School 1981-2008 and taught at the Boston Medical Center as a clinical instructor.

Dr. Ellerin graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1965 and completed his residency at the Boston City Hospital and New England Medical Center.

In 1968 during the Vietnam War, Dr. Ellerin was honored with the Bronze Star Medal for his sentinel study of fungal disease leading to preventive treatment in combat troops. His publications regarding Prevention of Skin Disease During Riverine Warfare in the Mekong Delta resulted in the development of specialized footwear decreasing the incidence of foot fungus in soldiers. Following his promotion to major, he became Chief of Dermatology at Ft. Carson, Colorado.

After completing his residency in 1971, Dr. Ellerin opened his private practice in Dermatology.

Michelle Ryder, PA-C

Michelle Ryder is a licensed Physician Assistant specializing in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire and continued on to graduate school at Northeastern University where she received her Masters degree in Health Professions and Policy as well as her Physician Assistant Certification.

Michelle provides a wide range of medical and surgical dermatologic care and treatments for skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, hair loss, rashes, skin cancers and pre-cancers.  As a Physician Assistant, she has years of surgical experience and is skilled at suturing and cosmetic closures in addition to performing skin biopsies and surgical excisions. Michelle is a strong advocate of healthy skin care practices including sun protection for prevention of skin cancer and premature skin aging as well as routine skin cancer screening examinations.  

Adding to her list of talents, Michelle has extensive experience in cosmetic and aesthetic treatments, including advanced skin rejuvenation techniques, injectables (neuromodulators and dermal fillers), and sclerotherapy for treatment of spider veins.  She enthusiastically treats patients of all skin types in the adult and pediatric populations

Tricia Aiston, MS, APRN, FNP-BC

Tricia Aiston is a licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse specializing in dermatology. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and Master of Science in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program from Rivier University. Prior to beginning her career as a Nurse Practitioner in dermatology, Tricia worked as an RN for seventeen years and later went on to become a Nurse Practitioner in family practice where her scope of practice included general dermatology. She has continued her passion for dermatology here in our office while treating patients in the adult and pediatric populations with dermatologic concerns including skin cancer and pre-cancer, acne, rashes, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, hair loss and warts as well as performing skin biopsies and skin cancer screening examinations.
